Expressive Arts and Play Therapy

 in Portland, Maine

The Expressive Arts and Play Therapy Studio offers adults, children and families an opportunity to find fresh perspectives on, and new solutions to, long-term problems or sticky situations.

Suzanne Laberge REAT and coach, has 35 years of experience as an

Expressive Arts Therapist, and LCPC, using visual art, writing, role play, parts work, somatic work, and sand tray to facilitate communication and healing.

Expressive Arts Therapy is a creative approach

to a wide variety of problems.

Suzanne’s work has focused primarily on :

*************Parenting,

******PTSD,

***********Anxiety,

***Anger,

******************Self-Awareness   and

***Empowerment

Children don’t have the words, and use play to communicate. Words can be taught by narrating their play and behavior.

Adults use words in habitual ways, and can hide parts of themselves; non- verbal expression can open surprising doors.

Therapy goes back to the past to understand the present;

Coaching teaches ways to direct the future.

Both address obstacles to a more satisfying and functional life.
